Hey super spy! Ready to save the day?
(And by ‘save the day,’ I mean add some FUN to your homeschool while working on puzzles, codes and problem solving with your kiddos?)
Well have I got the book for you!
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Does this need to be a co-op class? Can I do it at home?
You can absolutely do this at home! You can do it at VBS, at a playdate, a birthday party – you can round up some random kids at your nearby park (just don’t be weird about it.) Although it was great to teach this to kids at our co-op, I would have absolutely done this at home with my own kids as a unit study!
What ages do you recommend this book for?
Between 7 to 10 years old seems to be a very good fit for the material. But a wider age-range could work as well … especially if the kids in question are good with puzzles and codes.
What kind of space is required?
Primarily a table, a long hallway is nice for the laser maze, and it’s nice to have additional space (outside of a classroom) for a few of the scavenger hunt-type activities.
This class could certainly be done in a home.
Do I need more than 1 adult?
The last week of class, it’s nice to have more adults available as “suspects.”
If you are doing this at home, you can collect information ahead of time by asking family members, friends or neighbors to contribute “clues.”
Does this have to be a 4-week class?
Nope! You could make things longer or shorter depending on your needs and the time allotted. You could definitely just do one activity per week or space things out however it works best for you at home.
What supplies do we need?
I’m glad you asked. You need spy gear, of course! Plus a few other fun things. To see a complete list, click here.
